BREAKING NEWS: Woman with compost worms and beef cows accidentally becomes spokesperson for the dairy industry. 🐄😂

I feel I should point out that I have:

  • no dairy herd

  • no milking parlour

  • no clue how to milk anything

  • and have never once described myself as a Dairy Queen :)

And yet… here I am in the dairying news talking about “farmwashing” and fake farm brands.

Anyway it's fair enough - as it does annoy me.

Real farmers are out here trying to keep livestock alive, crops growing, soil healthy, machinery running and overdrafts vaguely under control… while somewhere in a supermarket marketing office someone invents “Happy Meadow Farm” or “Old Oak Farmhouse” despite the product having travelled more miles than most people’s gap year.

Apparently all you need these days to become a farm is:
✔ a beige label
✔ a drawing of a tractor or an American style barn...
✔ and a font that looks a bit rustic.

Meanwhile actual farms are knee deep in S H 1 T wondering whether the tonka toy will start.

Anyway, I’m off to continue my dairy career by feeding worms and arguing with compost.
