Restoring Charm: Our Airbnb Properties
Our Approach
We are primarily farmers, practical and hands-on, which does help when it comes to rejuvenating neglected properties. Our three Airbnb homes—Birchfield and Laurel Villa in Aberystwyth, and Lower House in Builth Wells—are great examples of rejuvenating completely neglected properties back to life. None of them had been lived in for many years and Lower House was condemned so we went for a complete rebuild. These projects are a team effort, and crucial to the success are Luke and San from our property team, alongside the our build team at Cherry Build, who help make each restoration possible
Birchfield: Coastal Comfort
Situated in Aberystwyth, Birchfield was once an abandoned HMO, but has now been transformed into a cosy retreat. We’ve preserved its unique features while updating it for comfort and convenience. It’s the perfect spot for guests who wish to enjoy the fresh sea air and unwind, and is really close to the prom and the town.

Laurel Villa: Simple Elegance
Located a short walk from the centre of Aberystwyth, Laurel Villa blends classic charm with modern comfort. Restored to maintain its historical allure, it has become a favourite for guests seeking relaxation and local exploration.
Lower House: Country Living
In Builth Wells, Lower House has gone from a condemned run down property to a new four bedroom welcoming country house. It’s an ideal retreat for those who enjoy the tranquillity of rural settings, and great for a walking holiday (close to the Dams) and for visits to Hay.

The Bigger Picture
Balancing these restoration projects with our farming duties has been immensely rewarding. The skills we utilise on the farm—like problem-solving, perseverance, and a deep connection to the land—are equally valuable in reviving these old homes.
