We’ve had two dead calves recently and in this video we investigate what’s happened, how Phil collected colostrum and helped a struggling calf whose leg was back, and why the first 8 hours can make all the difference; despite fighting hard to get life into him, there’s an emotional toll when you feel like you’ve let the cow down, and on a livestock farm you can’t escape the reality of deadstock — this is life, loss, care and tough decisions all wrapped together.
