This Land Works Hard

Sheep on our cover crop at Lower Blakemere Farm in Herefordshire - Here to do a proper job, not just look pretty (although I do like the look of a sheep). They’re grazing the covers, putting nutrients back into the soil, helping build organic matter and structure, and yes, we actually get paid to have them here. It’s mixed farming doing what it’s always done best: crops feeding livestock, livestock feeding soil, soil growing the next crop. And of course, like every flock, there’s always one black sheep who thinks the rules don’t apply. Lower Blakemere Farm, Herefordshire – regenerative farming, soil, cattle, birds and food.
